My dog can get himself out of a harness and a choke chain. What do I use next?
I have a black and tan coon hound. He is a large dog. He can get out of a choke chain and a harness. What do I use to put him on a leash?
Part of the probelm is that he is very skinny. When we find a harness that will fit his large rib cage they are often too big everywhere else. He is very calm and well behaved until he has a leash. I think the previous owner must have caused this fear
ok the choke chain should only be on when you walk him and if he pulls and it should only be two inches longer than the dogs neck when the chain is straight. a martingale collar might work good too. as for the harness take the dog to the pet store and ask if you could get your dog fitted for a hharness some stores have harnesses that they let you try on your dog. also the choke chain should be positioned just under the dogs jaw and just behind the ears. if the dog doesnt pull then just use a regular collar hope this helped
