Leather or Fabric Sofa?

We are going to be investing in a new sofa/loveseat set soon.

We have 2 cats, a medium sized dog (that seems to smell no matter how often we bathe him!) and 3 kids: 15,13 and 8. We are very hard on our furniture--we have lots of company over and our sofa and love seat get a LOT of use.

What would be the most durable: leather or a good fabric?

Our cats don't get up on the furniture and our dog doesn't shed (but he sure does smell!) so hair isn't a problem. I am more concerned with stains, smells, and the general livability of the material. Our home is very very comfortable and inviting and I want my furniture to portray that as well. I want something functional that looks nice too. I am wanting something that will last me awhile--at least until my kids move out and go to college. : ( Any ideas?

Go with microfiber.
idk about pets because we dont have pets but we do have kids around around and drawing on stuff with pens.

idk about stores but you should get a microfiber sofa that you can just unzip if your pets or kids go pee pee on it, or spill milk you can just put it in the washer and then put it back on.
very easy and clean.
& IT doesnt cost that bad, and it looks great even after a while.
It looks great if you want the comfy feeling because itll look like you can just sit down and watch a great movie with your family instead of, "OMG, THERES A STAIN HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO GET THAT OFFF, oh noooo!"
If you worry about stains, its washable.
leather, can rip and a little costly, and it wears off after a while.. when the kids and pets jumping and playing around, and it will look saggy in a while, we have a leather and a microfiber couch. haha.

How do I get pet rats to stop taking their food into the litter box?

I realize that some rats just do weird things....but I figured I'd see if anybody else has had this issue, and what they did to stop it.

So any help would be appreciated.

It's pretty normal. My rats love to stash food (and sleep) in their litterboxes. There's not really a way to stop it. Maybe try giving them more boxes with bedding in it so they can dig and hide things in it? As long as you change out the litterboxes whenever they start getting a little funky, it won't make them ill.

i was wondering if it really works beacause my dog is a barker and if it is not dandres.

I don't like ones that supposedly go off automatically when your dog barks, because in my experience, they are also triggered when next door's dogs bark, a bird squawks or a door slams... and you end up with a neurotic dog who doesn't know why this high pitched noise keeps happening...

Better are the bark collars which are triggered by a remote control - it means more work on the owner's part, but they don't tend to go off at random like the others do - and the dog very quickly learns which behaviour creates the unpleasant noise. I used one which also vibrated - and my young barker was a different dog within a couple of days. These days he wears the collar on walks, but I haven't replaced the batteries for months.... so it doesn't actually work, but I never need to use it anymore.

Having problems with cat hair on my furniture....does the Scat Mat work?

My cats like to lounge all day on the backs of my couches and I am constantly cleaning cat hair off! I am getting sick of sitting down on my couch and having cat hair all over my shoulders! Has anyone tried the Scat Mat? I've tried everything, from the spray bottle method (which doesn't work when I'm not home, LOL), from putting aluminum foil up there, which they just knock off. Also, any other suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

How do I clean and heavily pet soiled, indoor, concrete floor?

I just purchased and "Handyman Special" and my biggest problem is the flooring. They are bare concrete and are heavily soiled (pets, dirt, etc). I have tryed cleaning with bleach water but it just seems so soak in and cause more odor. I have been told that once I lay the ceramic tile I will no longer have the odor but I dont want to find out the hard way and have to tear up my new floor. Any help is appreciated.
The flooring is inside the house - I cant use a pressure washer inside.

Once all the obvious debris is removed and the floors are mopped, wash the floors with a solution of Nature's Miracle or Petzyme (I recommend the latter). These are enzymes which will eat up any remaining urine or feces that has embedded into the floor. The product should be spread on the floor and covered with plastic tarps for a day or so. You can walk on it. You just want to keep it damp for a day.

Suck up the remaining fluid if there is any and clean well with water. Allow the concrete to dry completely - about a week of good weather or dry heat then seal the concrete and cover with whatever flooring you want.

All of your prices look good, a little on the low side which is good because that would motivate people to buy. If you are going to sell them yourselves you need a marketing plan--selling on e bay might be best, but if you are going to wholesale them to stores they will mark up your price, usually about double, and then they won't be as attractive. You could advertise them over the internet on pet related sites. Anyway, good luck, it seems like a good idea and a nice business.
